Written Words… End of the Road @KMNbooks #8sunday #snippetsunday

Last week recap: Cecilia found a journal beneath the floorboards and is wondering why it was hidden and who it belongs to.

Now for the snippet.

The story is in the very early stages and has not been edited.

**********************************************************************************************************************

She slowly flipped through the pages once more and paused to read a passage, then another. The aged worn sheets were filled with bold print and some pages were scrawled in handwriting.

One scribbled laden note read: Talk to Fritz about changing a line on the second stanza of Be it Known. The words aren't clicking with me. Got something else in mind.

There was another note where he jotted down a reminder to buy Phoebe a present for their anniversary. This had to be her father's journal. "But why would you hide it away?" she murmured to herself. It didn't make any sense, but then maybe it did. Fritz said her father had been paranoid the last months before his death.

**********************************************************************************************************************

Do you think her father hid the journal or someone else?

Love to hear your feedback.

Unofficial Blurb for End of the Road

Lars Gunner, the frontman for Silent Plaids, died 23 years ago and is trapped in limbo until his daughter, Cecilia, unearths his journal and is able to see him. His death was ruled an unfortunate accident, but he's convinced it had to be murder despite the fact he can't recall what happened in his last moments of life. Cecilia seeks the help from Kaleb, a psychic, but as they resurrect the past, the secrets and lies surrounding Lar's rock and roll life just may be the death of them too.

  1. I don’t think he hid it from her, but who wouldn’t he want to see it? Great snippet–it’s a journal as well as notes about his music.

  2. A few questions here … intersted in why he had to hide the journal as well, also in what else she might discover in it. Nice snippet

  3. I thinks it’s very suspicious that he became paranoid before dying, maybe that wasn’t exactly paranoia and more like someone was there to get him for real. I guess there’ll be answer in his journal.

  4. This is such an interesting story! Now I’m wondering what else the journal contains and why he was so paranoid before his death? Which may well lead to another mystery.
