He’s baack! End of the Road #8sunday #snippetsunday

Setup for this snippet with a recap from last time: In the light of day, Cecilia can't believe she told her ghost father to go away. She's at home, having breakfast and trying to ignore her father's journal sitting in front of her on the table.

In this scene, it doesn't read exactly how it does in the book. Sentences have been deleted to meet the 10 sentence limit. 🙂

She opened her laptop and went through the ritual of retrieving her emails before she pulled up her website to look at her schedule for the day. She clicked on her folder with photos of the bride-to-be in her wedding gown, and a few close up shots so she could see the contours of her face and how best to flatter her features.

"Man, she's hot."

"Holy mother..." Cecilia jumped out of her seat and whirled around to face her father who gave her a sheepish shrug.

"Sorry. Didn't mean to startle you."

"I-I thought you were gone." A flood of emotion assailed her, but relief proved to be in the forefront.

"I took a chance you didn't mean it when you told me to get lost." His lips curved into a lazy smile and for a second she recognized the reason why so many women had fallen for his charm. "Am I right?" he asked.

 Blurb:

Lars Gunner, the frontman for Silent Plaids, died 23 years ago and his death was ruled an unfortunate accident. Despite the fact he can't recall what happened to him in his last moments of life, he is convinced he was murdered. He has been trapped in limbo until his daughter, Cecilia, unearths his journal and is able to see him. She seeks help from Kaleb, a psychic, but as they resurrect the past, the secrets and lies surrounding Lars' rock and roll life just may be the death of them too.

  2. What he *should* have said, you know, is “Boo!” 😉

Belated congratulations for Two Worlds Collided finalling for a RONE award! I’m afraid I didn’t realize you had finalled until your name went up on the screen during the ceremony.
