What if they were wrong? End of the Road Only 99¢ #endoftheroad #8sunday #snippetsunday

Setup for this snippet: Lars has a theory why he's remained earthbound... This is continued from last week.  (Cecilia's POV.)  lol

"You were drunk and–" She stopped there because he was shaking his head adamantly and it was difficult to ignore.

"I had a few drinks. It was a Christmas party for Christ sakes, but I would know if I was going to take a swim in the ocean."

She hesitated on saying more as she reached for her coffee mug and drank. What if they were all wrong, the authorities included and he had actually been murdered? She lowered the mug from her lips as she remembered something Fritz and Mario, heck all the band members had told her at one time or another. She might as well confront her father with it now. "Before you died, you claimed someone was following you. Why did you think that?"

 Blurb:

Lars Gunner, the frontman for Silent Plaids, died 23 years ago and his death was ruled an unfortunate accident. Despite the fact he can't recall what happened to him in his last moments of life, he is convinced he was murdered. He has been trapped in limbo until his daughter, Cecilia, unearths his journal and is able to see him. She seeks help from Kaleb, a psychic, but as they resurrect the past, the secrets and lies surrounding Lars' rock and roll life just may be the death of them too.

  1. I’m in love with the entire concept of this story, and can’t wait to finally have a few days to curl up and read it in it’s entirety. Great job, Karen!

  2. My guess is he was being followed by the person who murdered him, and he either wants ghostly revenge, or is unable to cross over because hasn’t come to terms with his violent passing.

  3. If he thought someone was following him–and his band knew about this, why didn’t the police give credence to the idea of him being murdered? Can’t wait to read what comes next.
