Parting is such sweet sorrow… Heart and Soul #8sunday #snippetsunday

Setup for this snippet: WIP from Heart and Soul. This is a snippet from my new 'rock star romance' that I'm working on. It's in the very early stages.

Last week : Maverick is at the door when he turns and faces Rowan with a question. "So how do you like your eggs?"

Not exactly what she was hoping he'd ask. 🙂

This is Rowan's POV.

***

"Scrambled," she managed to tell him.

"See you at 8:30 then and I'll whip you up some of the best scrambled eggs you ever tasted." He didn't wait for her to respond but opened the door.

She followed him outside but stood at the threshold as he strode to his apartment a few feet away with those sure easy steps. At his door, he glanced her way. He probably felt her ogling at him and heat flooded to her cheeks at the thought. Hopefully, the shadows hid that lovely fact from him.

His lips curved into a lopsided grin, shredding any hope.

"Good night, Rowan."

Love to hear your feed back. 🙂

About Heart and Soul...

80s rock star, Haley Rose went missing without a trace on October 31 1988 and was eventually presumed dead. Three decades later, a thirty-year old woman, Rowan Beckett recalls things only Haley Rose would know and she can belt out songs in the same fashion as the missing 80s star. However, Rowan couldn't be the missing rock star since the woman would now be in her fifties. Could Haley Rose have came back reincarnated as Rowan Beckett?

    1. Siobhan,
Yep, should be curved. I tweaked and tweaked this snippet. Thanks for the catch.
