Open Night Mic… Heart and Soul #8sunday #snippetsunday

Setup for this snippet: WIP from Heart and Soul. This is a snippet from my new 'rock star romance' that I'm working on. It's in the very early stages.

Last week Maverick and Rowan are planning the Merry Mayhem Event. We're continuing from there.

Maverick's POV. Rowan is speaking first.

"Then we'll need a headliner for the last slot, and maybe we could allow an hour for the final band of the night. The rest should be half-hour slots, longer if we find there is a reason we can't book the night.

"I don't think we'll have a problem," he said with a shrug. "Never has been in the past anyway."

She nodded as if impressed. "What about singers who don't have a band? Do you supply a band for them, so they have back up or should we just pass them up?"

"I know a few guys who'd be willing to play for the night."

"Cool. If you don't mind, perhaps we could have an open mic night before the event, and advertise it as a talent show with two songs maximum."

Love to hear your feed back. 🙂

About Heart and Soul...

80s rock star, Haley Rose went missing without a trace on October 31 1988 and was eventually presumed dead. Three decades later, a thirty-year old woman, Rowan Beckett recalls things only Haley Rose would know and she can belt out songs in the same fashion as the missing 80s star. However, Rowan couldn't be the missing rock star since the woman would now be in her fifties. Could Haley Rose have came back reincarnated as Rowan Beckett?

  2. You are building the scene quite nicely… When do they kiss? Inquiring minds (okay, maybe only mine) want to know. 😉

  3. She’s full of good ideas, which YAY, because I want her to do well at this job! (See how much you draw me into caring about your characters???!) Excellent excerpt…

  4. There’s nothing like planning an event to bring two people close together – provided they’re in agreement of coure. Another great snippet!
