Briar knew she dreamt. The fog-like stillness, the way her limbs moved without effort prove her point, along with the fact she no longer slept in the comfort of her own bed but wandered the halls of a house she knew only in her dreams. Cloaked with the cover of night and only light filtering in from the moon’s brilliance, she could make out the nineteen-century furniture and wall décor.
He strode over to the door and threw it open. Security was there to escort him safely to where Sam, Wyatt, and Malcolm waited for him. Sam met his gaze, and he nodded he was ready. Sam went on stage first, heading for his kit. Once he started the intro with his drum solo, they would take their spots on stage with Malcolm on bass, and Wyatt on electric guitar. He’d go on last, front and center to belt out the lyrics to the bluesy rock song from their new album.
“Everything looks great,” she voiced lamely and glanced away as if she were checking out the apartment further. At least the farce seemed to deafen the awkward silence and she was able to regroup. The apartment wasn’t a big place or fancy but she didn’t need much. Never had.
Sam, the old man who greets those going into Big Bob’s Saloon, and Tye are catching up on things. It’s been ten years since Tye’s been back to Skeeter Blue.

Set up for the scene: Michaela agrees to let Alan and Hyatt give her a tour of the loch so she can search for the legendary Loch Ness Monster. Alan realizes Michaela may be ill, but her spirit is strong. As Hyatt and Michaela conversed, Alan familiarized himself with Michaela’s subtle expressions.
Set up for the scene: Michaela decides to trust Hyatt and Alan. She tells Hyatt that she’s renting a cottage from Mrs. O’Malley and the woman sent her in this directions to rent a boat. Hyatt is both surprised and pleased. Michaela just asked how much the boat trip around the loch will cost. She’s worried a private tour will cost more than she can afford. (Michaela’s POV)
