****************************************************************************

In the scene below: Cassandra Hayes has just found out the vampire she's suppose to kill is Tremayne Graystone, the man she's been dating. They're in the forest behinds his house and she's already shot him once with a crossbow, but Tremayne believes the relationship can still be salvaged.  Tremayne is the one speaking.

Now the six...

“I’ve been minding my own business for centuries before such a job—as preternatural hunters—existed. I work, pay my taxes and I don’t go around killing innocents.”

Shrrrthunk!

He looked above his head where the arrow sat lodged into the tree trunk. When had she moved? “That was damn close, Cassandra."

I hope you enjoyed the six!  So, do you think Tremayne will be able to sway Cassandra from killing him? I'd love to know your thoughts?

  1. What a wonderful idea for a Christmas story. The six sentences were so enticing. Leave it to you to come up with something clever and different for Christmas. I love the cover. Did you design it?

    1. Hi Sarah,

I’m so glad you like the snippet of Mistletoe, Stakes and Yuletide Cheer.
Laura Shinn designed the cover. Lovely, right? But then how could it not be with JT on the cover. lol

  2. Oh boy he is going to have to do some convincing and fast. I bet he can do it. The cover is very pretty. Karen I am really enjoying your Halloween fun too.

    1. Hi Sue!
Tremayne will do some charming. 🙂 Cassandra is a hunter. If she truly wanted to spear him, I have a hunch she would have.

I’m so glad you’re enjoying the Halloween Bash at my KMN Books blogspot. 🙂 It’s been fun and the all the authors participating have been fantastic!!

    1. Sue,

Some of the vampire clans should be hunted down, but Tremayne belongs to the Oiche Sith clan and he’s a Graystone. They want to live among the humans.

Thanks so much for coming by.

  3. I LOVE how cool he is here. That last line totally won me over! (Also, your 10/14 six is so sexy. I couldn’t comment – guess I’m too late, LOL – but it was delish!)
