Babysitting a Rock Star… Two Worlds Collided #8sunday #snippetsunday

Two Worlds Collided_mediumWelcome to Snippet Sunday! This is a snippet from Two Worlds Collided.

LOOKING FOR last week's SNIPPET: Snippet #10

Now for Chapter One, #11 snippet: Los Angeles, 2007  Disappear

Evie made it back in time to 1997. Her essence from 2007 has merged with her younger self. (This is how time travel is accomplished when using magic as a way of time travel.) Her brother, Bryce, just called her at her workplace. This is the first step in changing history. She refused the job to be Bellamy's personal assistant the first go around. Let's see what happens this time...

We're skipping ahead a few paragraphs from last week. (Creative punctuation for this one. :))

*****************************************************************************************************************

The band wants to hire a private assistant...for Bellamy Lovel," he added carefully.

"I have some time off available here so it shouldn't be a problem, and you know, I could use the extra cash." Bryce knew about her boyfriend and him depleting her bank account.

"Well, perfect. I'll let the band know. They'll want you to start on August 10th. I'll call you later tonight with all the details, and Evie, this has to be kept quiet. Bellamy is…he's been in rehab, left early to do this tour and the band's worried about him."

They should be, she thought but didn't voice her opinion. "They're hiring me to watch him, aren't they?"

*****************************************************************************************************************

She's in. Should prove interesting. Don't you wonder what Bellamy will think about being assigned a babysitter?

Blurb for Two Worlds Collided:

Evie Reid on a whim agrees to travel back in time to change bad boy Bellamy Lovel's path of destruction. She's smart with a college degree, but she is still fan-girl crazy for the rock band, Civilized Heathens. Evie knows despite all Bellamy's smiles and enthusiasm on the stage, he's destined to end it all on one lonely night in a hotel room unless she can change his path.

Bellamy isn't keen on having Evie as his personal assistant, hired by his band mates to watch over him, and keep him on schedule. However, there is something about the woman that sparks his interest, despite his best to ignore her. When darkness threatens to consume him, he realizes she may be the only light that will chase the shadows away.

    1. He does. It’s been a while, but in the earlier snippets Evie tells her friends about the time her brother took her to an Uncivilized Heathens’ concert where she pulled Bellamy from the stage- accidently, of course. lol

  1. I’m concerned about his history with rehab and the fact he left early. Even if she changes the actual event, I wonder if she’ll be able to prevent it all together? (Wow, it would be hard for me to keep my mouth shut when I know about so many things.)

    1. Chelle,
Yes, leaving early is a definite concern. At this point everyone thought his addiction was the only problem, they didn’t realize it would lead him down a darker avenue.
It would be difficult for me to keep my mouth shut too, but when you know this is your only shot to change things, and revealing details is a sure way to end the trip, I’d learn to bite my tongue.

  2. Wow, you’ve done an excellent job creating an interesting backstory for both characters in this snippet. It’s makes me want to keep reading.

  3. Well she didn’t stumble around or jump the gun this time in replying to him. Seems like she kept her head, now let’s see if she can continue to keep it around Bellamy in knowing what she does. I reckon that’d be hard as hell.
