Talk about falling for someone… Two Worlds Collided #timetravel @KMNbooks

two-worlds-collided_newlook3Welcome to Snippet Sunday! This is a snippet from Two Worlds Collided. Released Oct. 22! Only 99¢ for a short time. So excited about this release. I really loved Evie and Bellamy's story. I hope you will too.

LOOKING FOR last week's SNIPPET from Chapter Two: Snippet #5

Now for Chapter Two - Body Language Snippet #6

About this snippet: We're skipping ahead to where Evie and Bellamy officially meet.

Evie and Leon head to the roof where Bellamy is. Evie is worried as to why Bellamy is up there and is wondering why his band mates aren't concerned until she realizes they wouldn't know he was thinking of ending it all.  To them, it's just Bellamy wanting some alone time.

There are some tweaks in punctuation.

She spotted Bellamy standing on the ledge a few feet in front of her and fear rose up inside of her like a tangible force that urged her to go to his rescue. Her legs carried her swiftly and her hands grabbed his dress shirt with some kind of wild print on it, and she yanked him toward her.

Bellamy's hands flew out in front of him as if to grab onto something to steady his fall. "What the–" Her cry of alarm muffled Bellamy's curse when she realized he was going to land on top of her, but at the last millisecond, Bellamy twisted, grabbing hold of her as he fell onto his back with her sprawled on top of him in an unseemly manner. Her hair had come loose from the knot at the back of her neck. Her glasses were askew on her nose and she tried to adjust them as she pulled on her blouse, which had risen above her waist. Bellamy's hot hands were on her flesh and for a moment she'd forgotten to breathe. She met his startled gaze and his lips pursed into a fine line.

"What is wrong with you, lady?" he said and shoved her away, not exactly rough but with a purpose to be as far away as possible from her.

Quite an introduction, don't you think? I'm sure she's made an impression but maybe not a good one. lol

Blurb for Two Worlds Collided: (Time Travel, rating: 17+ years and older)

Evie Reid on a whim agrees to travel back in time to change bad boy Bellamy Lovel's path of destruction. She's smart with a college degree, but she is still fan-girl crazy for the rock band, Civilized Heathens. Evie knows despite all Bellamy's smiles and enthusiasm on the stage, he's destined to end it all on one lonely night in a hotel room unless she can change his path.

Bellamy isn't keen on having Evie as his personal assistant, hired by his band mates to watch over him, and keep him on schedule. However, there is something about the woman that sparks his interest, despite his best to ignore her. When darkness threatens to consume him, he realizes she may be the only light that will chase the shadows away.

  1. How and when did Bellamy kill himself? From the blurb it doesn’t look like the rooftop so he probably was just seeking some alone time. Oops. That was quite an intro for sure.

  2. Well that introduction didn’t go so well. Maybe she needs to take a step back and remember she does know what day he killed himself and work with it in mind. She’s at the advantage in this, as long as she can get close to Bellamy. Great snippet, and congrats on the release!

  3. Dramatic scene and probably good foreshadowing for later when he might really be contemplating jumping or doing something else suicidal (going by the blurb for the story). Excellent excerpt.

  4. Humorous and thrilling at the same time. At this point, Bellamy is probably wondering which of the two of them has mental problems.

BTW, Effing forgot to link my blog post to my WeWriWa (watch out, cat, or you’ll be replaced by Twiggles the dog!) but here it is.

    1. Siobhan,
lol- Yes, it was. Sometimes, she has difficulty separating her fan crush instincts with her real reason for being there. She’s only human and those emotions can’t just be tucked away. 🙂

  5. Since he doesn’t know what she’s thinking (and how could he, when her story is so surprising), he’s right in being peeved. She did overreact a bit. Still, it was nice of him not to squish her!
