Do we have a deal?…. Two Worlds Collided @KMNbooks #timetravel #8sunday #snippetsunday

two-worlds-collided_newlook3Welcome to Snippet Sunday! This is a snippet from Two Worlds Collided. Only 99¢ for a short time. I really loved Evie and Bellamy's story. I hope you will too.

LOOKING FOR last week's SNIPPET from Chapter Three: Snippet #1

Now for Chapter 3  - Building Bridges Snippet #2

About this snippet: We're skipping ahead a few paragraphs.

Set up for this snippet: Bellamy shows up at Evie's room with a purpose. Evie figures out his ploy that he's trying to make her feel uncomfortable enough to want to quit, but she calls him on it. She tells him she's not leaving. She was hired to do a job and she is going to do it.

Now for the snippet. There are some tweaks in punctuation.

He placed the book down and those ever-expressive eyes burned with what she supposed was anger. "I don't need a babysitter, despite what Leon told you."

Ah, so now we have it; his pride had been sorely nicked. "Good, because I don't want to be one. Listen, maybe we can work together here. I need this job." He didn't have to know it was because she needed to stay close to him and hopefully say something or do something that would influence him to want to live. "I have bills to pay," she added, "and you have a grueling schedule where you need to be on time, so allow me to assist you in doing that and we'll all go home happy at the end of the day."

He drummed his hand on the top book, which happened to be book one in the Harry Potter series. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the UK edition given to her by her brother. Who knew how widely popular the series would eventually become, and in 2007, she was anxiously waiting for the final book in the series to be released.

Will he take the deal or not? Find out next week.

Blurb for Two Worlds Collided: (Time Travel, rating: 17+ years and older)

Evie Reid on a whim agrees to travel back in time to change bad boy Bellamy Lovel's path of destruction. She's smart with a college degree, but she is still fan-girl crazy for the rock band, Civilized Heathens. Evie knows despite all Bellamy's smiles and enthusiasm on the stage, he's destined to end it all on one lonely night in a hotel room unless she can change his path.

Bellamy isn't keen on having Evie as his personal assistant, hired by his band mates to watch over him, and keep him on schedule. However, there is something about the woman that sparks his interest, despite his best to ignore her. When darkness threatens to consume him, he realizes she may be the only light that will chase the shadows away.

  1. I had to chuckle, he’s trying to p*ss her off so she’ll leave and her response is perfectly calm and rational, that had to really frustrate him. And I love the reference to the Harry Potter series, truly a time tunnel in itself.

  2. I’d think he’d take the deal. Interesting that they’re both Harry Potter fans….wonder where that thread will go, if it does. A fascinating story, enjoyed the snippet.

  3. I can’t imagine anyone adult wants a babysitter, though some people need one. But everyone needs a little help now and then, right? The question is–can he admit that, at least? Nice tension, and love the HP book!

    1. Caitlin,
You are right. Everyone needs a little help now and again. Bellamy is a little surprised that she saw right through his antics and still offered to make a go of things. He may need a second to process everything. lol

  4. I like her reply … calm and rational. And I like the little bit about the Harry Potter series … who would’ve thought 🙂
