Hello Everyone! Happy Sunday!
Today I thought I'd share a snippet from my western/steampunk tale: STORM RIDERS.
Samantha Skelley and Denny Randeli are sent to 1879 Bodie, California, one of the wildest towns of the west. It should have been an easy snatch and rescue, but first they must save Ace McTavis from a hangman's noose. While Denny keeps the deputies and the men in charge jumping as he shoots at them, Samantha goes after Ace, hoping to escape on horseback.
SIX SENTENCE SUNDAY
She maneuvered her mount around the scrambling crowd with ease and jumped over obstacles in her way.
"St. Brigid in Heaven, you're an angel." McTavish clung to her, his hands around her waist—warm and large, the heat from him sent a strange feeling to the pit of her stomach.
She shook her head. It was the thrill of the escape, not how McTavish felt against her. She tried to convince herself with no avail.

A steampunk Western – very cool! Sounds like she might need some rescuing soon. 🙂
Hi Cate,
I had so much fun writing this story. It’s one of those tales where the muse just took over.
Thanks so much for coming by.
Nice action scene. (And of COURSE it’s how McTavish feels against her that has put those butterflies in her stomach!)
Hi Linda,
Ace McTavish does cause havoc with Samantha’s libido. lol Of course, Ace isn’t immune either.
Thanks so much for coming by.
Steampunk intrigues me. I don’t have the imagination to write it, but I love reading it. Throw it into a Western and I’m all over that. Love your six!!!
Vonnie,
Isn’t there just something about a western you can’t help but love. 🙂 Thanks for coming by.
Okay. I’m intrigued! And I love the names of your characters. Great six!
Thanks so much, Silver!

Thanks so much for the Tweet and Fb’d, too.
I want to know more about Ace and why she must rescue him! I would definitely read this story! I love westerns, especially if there’s romance and adventure.
Wildcats Wife,
There is just something about a cowboy… sigh.
Thanks for coming by today!!
I’m just discovering steampunk and am quickly falling in love with it. Always enjoyed a good western so the two together sound awesome. Great six, I love the glimpse you gave us and what she’s feeling (or trying not to, LOL). Well done!
Mae,
When someone looks like Ace, it would be distracting. lol
I’m glad you were intrigued. I love westerns and the steampunk genre, so I though why not combine the two. 🙂 Thanks so much for ‘riding the storm’ over here.
Great six! Love the action!
Karyn,
I’m glad you enjoyed the snippet. Thanks so much for coming by.
There’s nothing like a man clinging to your back as you ride away. Fun six, Karen. 🙂
Siobhan,
Especially if it’s a good looking Scotsman in a cowboy hat. lol Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
I love the cover img of McTavish, Karen. Great six to showcase the growing tensions. 🙂
