It's Six Sentence Sunday! This is the ninth tidbit from Magic of the Loch. It's available for print now. Yeah!! E-book coming soon!
Magic of the Loch is a romance between Alan and Michaela, but there is also a mystery the two will need to solve. So today, I thought I would introduce the threat of the story. A sinister shape shifter with a vendetta against Alan. He's made Loch Ness his personal hunting ground. In this scene: The shifter has targeted Kait, a friend of Alan's.
Something large swam fast in a straight line toward her, the water rippling in waves to the side of the massive hulk. Run. Her mind screamed. Her feet took a step back, but it was already too late.
A dark shadow rose out of the water, large and foreboding. A scream clawed at her throat, but was choked back as she was yanked her off her feet and dragged beneath the murky water.
I hope you enjoyed this chilling sneak peek.

Awesome build of tension….and great ending hook! Espeically loved this line:
A scream clawed at her throat
Nice!
Christine,
I’m so glad you enjoyed the sneak peek at the evil that lurks beneath the surface of the loch.
I don’t know if it’s the reaction you were after or not, but the image your triggered was very similar to the eel scene in the Princess Bride, though yours is creepier.
I haven’t seen the Princess Bride all the way through, only bits and pieces of the movie– but cool. I’m glad the creepy factor conjured a great image. 🙂 Thanks for coming by.
