Ghost dad chats… End of the Road @KMNbooks #8sunday #snippetsunday

This story is a WIP. The story is in the very early stages and has not been edited. Did a few creative punctuation to end at a good spot. πŸ™‚

"Come on, Mom, you're tired," she said as she strode over to her mother and put an arm around her shoulder. "I was only three years old. Obviously, I had a vivid imagination."

Only five-foot-five in her bare feet, Cecilia towered her mother by four inches and that wasn't counting the boots she wore with the two-inch heels. Her mother raised her chin to peer at her. "It's why I locked you out of here," her mother told her and rested her hand on her arm. "You kept talking to him."

A cold chill brushed the back of her neck, but she managed to keep her voice calm. "It's okay, Mom," she said and ushered her toward the door, but at the archway, she couldn't help but glance over her shoulder at the roadie box half expecting Lars Gunner to be sitting on top of it. Of course, no ghost dad was to be seen.

So was she really chatting it up with her dear ole ghost dad?

Loved to hear your feedback. πŸ™‚

Unofficial Blurb for End of the Road

Lars Gunner, the frontman for Silent Plaids, died 23 years ago and is trapped in limbo until his daughter, Cecilia, unearths his journal and is able to see him. His death was ruled an unfortunate accident, but he's convinced it had to be murder despite the fact he can't recall what happened in his last moments of life. Cecilia seeks the help from Kaleb, a psychic, but as they resurrect the past, the secrets and lies surrounding Lar's rock and roll life just may be the death of them too.

  1. Not a surprise, especially when she was little, but wouldn’t it be cool if “dad” showed up one time? Great snippet, Karen. I’m looking forward to reading this one. πŸ™‚
