Set up: Kait insists of being a proper host and another person joins the party ...

***Note: Snippet has been modified to fit the 8 sentence limit.  :)

Kait's gaze landed on the tabletop and she clicked her tongue with a shake of her head. “Oh come on now, where are yer manners? Ye dinnae give the lassie a proper drink of George’s fine whiskey.”

“No, I’m fine really,” Michaela raised her hands in protest, but Kait persisted, whirling around to
head for the bar. Her swift actions had her plowing into a young man. His beer splashed down the front
of his polo shirt and onto the paper he was holding. “I dinnae see ye.” Kait said and grabbed a few napkins from the table to wipe his shirt.

“It’s all right,” the young man laughed, his speech indicating he was a tourist.

Kait's been sidetracked for the moment... :)

  1. I was so hoping the tourist would distract Kait from her “hostess duties,” so Alan and Michaela could get on with the bonding! 😀

  2. Am I the only one wondering if the tourist is Michaela’s boyfriend from back home, come looking for her?

(I just bought this the other day so I supposed I could go read it and find out — if I wasn’t stuck in editing hell right now…)
