It's Six Sentence Sunday! This is the 1st tidbit from my WIP, The Stone of Destiny. It's been contracted with Highland Press and will be featured in the anthology, Twist of Time. I don't have a release date yet.
So keep in mind this is still being edited. 🙂
Here's a Blurb: Kendra O’Reilly felt a connection with the Blarney Castle as if the echoes of the past could still be heard. The guide tells her a story about the Blarney Stone being the ancient Lia Fáil, one of the magical gifts from the god-like race, the Tuatha Dé Danann. To wish upon it, one will see where his or her destiny lies. Kendra wishes to find her one true love. She never thought she’d be whisked back to fifteen-century Ireland to find him.
Cian MacCarthy, the Lord of Blarney not only possesses the gift of Irish eloquence but he also has visions of the future. He’s waited for Kendra’s arrival, knowing she is his soul mate. Now all he has to do is convince her she belongs at his side.
****************************************************************************************************************
In this scene: A docent convinces Kendra to kiss the Blarney Stone and make a wish. When she sits up, the docent is gone and 15th century man sits beside her.
And now the six...
A mixture of astonishment and compassion filled his eyes that were the color of storm clouds.
“You look so real.” The moment she said the words, the enchantment broke. His features shimmered like ripples in a pond.
His hand reached for her. “Stay with me,” he pleaded, his voice raw with emotion.
I hope you enjoyed the Six!
What did you think? I love comments.

I can tell right now that this is going to be a wonderful story. I love time travel and I see Kendra has to find a way to get there. Wouldn’t it be great if we could all have a wish come true? You have to let us know when The Stone of Destiny releases, Karen.
Good morning, Sarah!

Love the emotion and the description of her eyes as “the color of storm clouds.” Great six!
Hi Linda,
So glad you could pop in for a sneak peek. Glad you liked the eyes. Eyes are a big deal to me. They’re a feature that hits me first when I meet someone. Then it’s their teeth. lol For the day job, I work at a dental office. Can’t help but look at teeth.
Loved this six because I know the exact scene! I kissed the Blarney Stone years ago (good thing–I’m now deathly afraid of heights!) so I can see this happening perfectly! Can’t wait for this to come out. 🙂
Jenna,
I’ve kissed the Blarney Stone, too. I’m usually not afraid of heights, but standing there waiting my turn, I stared down between the slats. Not a smart move and I wouldn’t recommend it. My legs started shaking, my chest felt tight and I actually broke out in a cold sweat. I thought I was going to pass out. Not one of my finer moments. I almost backed out, but then I took control of my senses. I traveled all this way. I was not going to miss my chance at kissing the stone. lol Shaking like a leaf, I did kissed the stone and I’m glad I did.
Thanks so much for coming by.
