The breakup Twirl and Dip #8sunday #SnipSun #snippetsunday

Twirl and Dip is a WIP story (very early stages)

Snippet:

It had been almost six years since she'd spoken to Drake and that had been over the phone to tell him she never wanted to see him again. She'd seen the photos and the interviews where his arm was draped over a tall skinny blonde.

She never balked that he wanted to pursue his music career. Heck, she'd supported him, pushed him to take the chance, but Drake had been the one to propose to her before he went on tour. She'd wanted to wait. In the end, he craved the bright lights, crowds, and loud music over making a life with her. She felt content living in the small town working at the soda shop she took over after her aunt passed away.

Drake knew she wouldn't give up the shop and couldn't live the life on the road. She couldn't sit on the sidelines forever, but he convinced her with his kisses and his silver tongue they could make it work.

  1. Oooh I have so many questions. Is this in your rock star series? Is it connected to Heart & Soul? Who is “she”? Great start, Karen.

  2. And here they are trying to make things right. Hmm. I wish them well.

  3. All stories need a strong conflict and this is a great one. Can’t wait to see how this develops.

  4. Hey Karen, I meant to post this earlier. We just relaxed the rules on wewriwa. I wrote about it on my 8sunday post this week. Participants will no longer have to change punctuation or write run-on sentences to stay within wewriwa guidelines. πŸ™‚

  5. It got my attention with no trouble. It’s an interesting premise.
