Twirl and Dip (WIP) Drake's POV
The knock at the door made him tense and he put the container down.
"Drake, we need you up front in ten," the person on the other side called.
"I'll be there," he said. He used to love to go on stage and sing his heart out, but they've played so many venues, non-stop for the last three years that he was burnt out. He wanted a break from it all.
His phone buzzed and he glanced at the number and the photo that popped up and pursed his lips. It was his last girlfriend. They broke up two months ago, but she wanted to get back together with him. Once he made the break from her, he realized the mistake it had been to hook up with her in the first place. He just didn't see it until he had some quiet and he could think. The woman did love her parties.

Eastyn has her soda shop to run and specialty ice creams to create. Only the place is falling apart, and she may have a haunted jukebox that chooses songs to communicate. She wants to know if Drake is home for good, or will he break her heart all over again?

Peace and quiet can give you the time to figure out what was right in your face. Looks like he did. Burnout would be hard to live with. To keep going when you’re done. Poor guy. Maybe he needs a good break.
