Snippet: WIP

Eastyn hadn't been all dolled up like the women who draped his arms when he attended the Hollywood parties and premieres. She wore jeans and a vintage Civilized Heathens tee, makeup to a minimum, and her hair pulled pack in a ponytail. More beautiful than he remembered, and he had a pretty good memory. God, he missed her so damn much.

However, daydreaming about her was out of the question if he wanted to fix her sign. A few seconds later, he found the culprit that put the W and I in the Twirl and Dip on the fritz. "There you are," he murmured to the faulty wire. As he worked with careful moves a surgeon would be proud of, the scent of something sweet and buttery wafted on the air, making him wondered what the delectable treat tantalized his senses could be; even his stomach rumbled as if anticipating a sample.

"It's almost noon," Eastyn announced, and he looked up to see her by the counter, obviously keeping her distance from him. Probably a good idea since he wasn't sure how well-behaved he'd be if she came too close. He wanted to draw her into his arms.

His fantasy of holding her again almost made him miss her following words.

"It's nothing fancy. I'm making grilled cheese, but you're welcome to join me if you want."
