This is in Maverick's POV. Maverick and Rowan are heading out to participate in a ghost tour that isn't exactly approved by the owner of the property but a local guy has access to the keys to the gate and sets the meet-ups for the ghost tours.
This Week's Snippet Below.

Two quick beeps from his key fob disturbed the night, and a dog barking from across the street added to the melody. He opened the door for her and she slid into the passenger seat. She was already buckled in by the time he took the wheel, and they were off to join the other ghost-seeking fools.
He glanced at Rowan who was wringing her hands, and he frowned. "Hey, you aren't scared, are you?"
Her eyes widened innocently. "No, why would you say that?" she asked and quickly moved her hands to rest beside her as if to prove a point.
He shrugged, deciding to let it go. His hand reached for the knob on the radio and the song playing filled the awkward silence.
"I'm just worried we'll get caught," she finally voiced.

Caught or caught by a ghost? Interesting snippet.
I’ve always wanted to go ghost hunting. I’m not afraid of ghosts, but I am easy to jump scare.
A valid concern on her part but of course given all that’s going on in this story already, it wouldn’t be on the top of my mind probably LOL. Really enjoying the story, great snippet. The details add so much!
Is that really what she’s worried about? Being caught on a ghost tour or finding a ghost from her past?
Considering what she carries around inside her, I’m sure she’s worried about more than just getting caught. I wonder when she’ll be ready to share her concerns.
I think she is scared, and not just of the ghosts that might (or might not) be out there. Something is going on with her, anyway.
I’m guessing that the ghost hunt is happening somewhere that they aren’t allowed to be? Either way, nice way of showing her nervous, not-nervous reaction.
Looks like she covered her anxiousness too late. He knows she’s a little scared.
I’m confused. If they’re going on a ghost-hunting tour, why would she be afraid they’d get caught?
