Setup for this snippet: WIP from Heart and Soul. This is a snippet from my new 'rock star romance' that I'm working on. It's in the very early stages.

Maverick's rich laughter drew her attention once more to where he was now chatting with a woman who was openly flirting as her finger lightly dabbed the whipped cream from her coffee cup and placed it between red-puckered lips for a taste.
Maverick's smile widened, but he took a step back before he politely moved on to chat with another customer. Maverick wore a dark blue button-down shirt, and blue jeans and his thick hair shone like polished ebony beneath the overhead lights. The man had a sex appeal that should be considered illegal. No wonder the women flocked to him as if he possessed some kind of come-hither superpower. She found she wasn't immune to the magic either, but he was her boss, and besides, she needed to keep her head clear and stay on task. She was here only to find out answers to her dreams or memories or whatever they were. The woman she dreamt about had lived here. Her name was Haley Rose, and she'd been in love with a man named Bass, short for Sebastian. It would help if she had his last name, but her research had been cut short when ex-boyfriend convinced her parents she needed therapy, and hell if he hadn't convinced her too.

About Heart and Soul...
80s rock star, Haley Rose went missing without a trace on October 31 1988 and was eventually presumed dead. Three decades later, a thirty-year old woman, Rowan Beckett recalls things only Haley Rose would know and she can belt out songs in the same fashion as the missing 80s star. However, Rowan couldn't be the missing rock star since the woman would now be in her fifties. Could Haley Rose have came back reincarnated as Rowan Beckett?
