It's Six Sentence Sunday! This is the 2nd tidbit from my Historical Romance, The Devil's Wolf.
Short Blurb: When Archie Maxwell is accused falsely of killing a Johnstone, his brother, Waylon, known as the Devil's Wolf, sets out to save him. His bargaining tool is the Johnstone's daughter, Catrione. He plans to ransom her for his brother's release, but once he lays eyes on her, his plans take another turn.
In this scene, Catrione Catrione has been captured by Waylon and is being held prisoner at his stronghold. She expects the worse... Well maybe in truth it is.
"Should I lay my head over a chair so that you may cut it off swiftly or should I just bow before you and let you do your business?"
It took Waylon a second to realize what the woman babbled about, but when it became clear, a slow smile spread across his face. "My dear lady, what I have planned for ye is far worse than death." She didn't flinch but stood there tall and regal, ready to accept her fate. Hmm, impressive; she further surprised him. "Ye my dear, will become my wife this day."
I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. See you again next Sunday!

OK, no way is being his wife going to be a fate worse than death! Loved this excerpt.
Linda,
I fail to see the problem, too. lol Thanks so much for coming by this morning.
LOL I’m in total agreement. Bring it on, Waylon! 😉
Hey Mac!
Waylon is a quite a character and Catrione will keep him guessing what will happen next. Thanks so much for coming by.
You are SUCH a tease. And that was not 6 sentences, that was–what?–2? I mean, it went by so quickly like a potato chip passing my lips. I want more…
Vonnie,
lol– Thanks so much for the lovely compliment. Gotta tease you into coming back for more. 🙂
Oh dear. Frying pan –> Fire. And after the sword fighting last week? I think Waylon will have his hands full! Great six, Karen. Looking forward to having some reading for pleasure time so I can catch up with your books!
Silver,
Thanks so much for coming by. I glad you’re enjoying the snippets. I’m off to see yours. Time– I want more so I can read, too!
Gotta love punishment worse than death! Great six Karen. 🙂 Nice set up to their future conflicts.
Calisa,
Waylon is definitely smirking. lol
Thanks for coming by.
*Jaw drop* What? Yeah, that should get her attention. Fun six, Karen. 🙂
Siobhan, I do believe she’d rather have death. lol Thanks so much for popping in.
Nice work! I just wonder how is marriage going to be a fate worse than death? I ask this because I do not know the whole story and maybe it is, but I just don’t see why right now. Great writing though and keep up the good work!
Samantha,
The families have been feuding for decades. Catrione would prefer death over marrying her hated enemy. lol Thanks so much for stopping by.
lol A rocky way to start a marriage, but I bet they’ll have an interesting time sorting it out. 🙂
As Waylon and Catrione work out their rocky start.
They’re also waiting for Catrione’s father to respond to the kidnapping and now the wedding. 🙂
