Snippet: WIP

He headed back up front, where he found Eastyn seated at the counter, waiting for him before she dug into her sandwich. He slid onto the stool next to her.

"I didn't know what chips you wanted," she said. "You used to like corn chips."

"Still do," he told her and tore open the bag, dumping the chips onto his plate. He reached for the grilled sandwich with the bread fried to a golden brown. He bit into the cheesy goodness and closed his eyes. Summer days and moments with Eastyn, and all of it flooded his memories of home. He took another bite and another. Neither spoke, but the whole time, he was itching to ask her a million questions.

Like, did she have a boyfriend because if she did, that would put a kink in his plans to woo her? Well, it wouldn't be easy anyway. 

She must have had a few questions for him, and they both spoke at the same time, making them chuckled, which broke the tension.
