Snippet: WIP
A few minutes later, she placed dishes on the counter with grilled cheese sandwiches, then tossed a few chip bags there, too. Grabbing two bottles of soda pop from behind the counter, she popped the cap with opener she must have nailed to the counter. As she poured the dark fizzy liquid into glasses filled with ice, the crackle and pop filled the air from the sudden intrusion.
"Foods done," she said and her clear blue eyes met his. It didn't take her long to realize he'd been staring. Her cheeks flushed a pretty pink that slid to her ears and didn't that just make her look even more adorable.
"I'll wash up first," he said and stood to his full height and headed for the bathroom with sure easy strides despite the jumble of nerves he felt rippling in his belly. He was going to have lunch with the woman. Sure, it was one of many he had with her before but this one was different. This one would tell him if he had a remote chance of starting over with her, making things right.

I like how aware he is of the importance of the meal with her. I hope they’ll be able to sort things out.

She offered him food. I’d say he has a chance. (At least, if I was in her position and he wasn’t going to get a chance there’d be a snowball’s chance that I’d cook for him.)

I love his hopefulness…as exemplified by the weight he gives to lunch.
I tried to use the code but it kept saying the code was used. I tried it twice, noticed that the number pf codes was dropping and quit. If I was doing something wrong, I didn’t want to use up all the codes in error.
